I could almost call this the most tedious, self-obsessed book ever written but then Id be wrong. It is only one of the many books in the aforementioned category. It may have been interesting if only Dumas was less verbose especially in regards to unnecessary sentences. And perhaps I have a predisposition towards this book because I associate this with my course. How awful.Perhaps all classics of a certain era are like this. I remember how disenchanted I was after reading - the equally tedious, verbally diarrhetic, self-obsessed - Phantom of the Opera.

So slow and so much of it was unnecessary.Ugh. This sounds so trashy. I have no appreciation for French literature. I think Ill go read something equally trashy and American now.
